FO: nothern loop
pattern: northern loop
yarn: knit picks wool of the andes bulky in navy
needle: sz.10.5
started: september 27, 2012

a good friend of mine asked me to donate some knitted goodies for an auction she is organizing that will be benefiting underprivileged kids in our hometown.
this was a really nice knit, i love using bulky because it goes so fast! hehe and of course i always love a good cowl. especially one that can be worn two ways!
cant decided if i want to pair this with a hat or some cute mittens. or both?? what do you think?

FO: tubby
pattern: tubby
yarn: patons wool in white, lambs pride worsted in turquoise and i forget what the bubbles are, oops!
needle: sz.5
started: august 13, 2012
finished: september 25, 2012
ok, this was not very fun to knit! i think it had less to do with the pattern and more to do with the fact that it was a very late birthday gift and the recipient was impatient! lol
knitting under pressure is not fun and games! the bubbles were a total pain in the butt and by the time i put it all together, i pretty much threw technique out the window. i just wanted it to be done! that said, i think it looks cute and im glad tubby can finally go home. :)

bad blogger, FO roundup
yet again, i have let my poor little blog fall by the wayside :( here is another roundup of some FOs i've had the past few months! lots of little projects, lots still on the needles :)
ive been riding my bike alot this summer and decided i needed a ulock cozy...bc why not?! ;)
this cute little panda face knit up in about only 20 min!
i found this om chart on ravelry, and before i started knitting it i had the idea to stick it in a frame. it turned out so much better than i had hoped! this is a fast, cool project i think alot of my friends would love :) (and that is my little garden hehe)
i definitely dont need a cowl in the middle of august, but i think it will come in handy when the weather starts to cool off and im still riding around on my bike. its snug enough so it can cover my mouth while riding
this adorable little guy was knit for my friend stephanie when she had shoulder surgery...shes REALLY into cupcakes. :)
knit this for my love.
love this cowl, its wrapped around twice here but can also be worn so its a big loop. i copied the exact colors the designer used and i love it! hehe
WHEW. i really want to start working on/finishing bigger projects. its just that the smaller projects are so much better for commuting and so satisfying lol

a friend from high school had her first baby last month! sweet little charlotte was born 4/17/12, they live in michigan so i haven't been able to meet her yet, but i can't wait.
since i didn't get my act together to knit her something before her arrival, i made charlotte a one month birthday gift! ;) this is the cutest little owl sleep sack (not really for sleeping, for cuddling!)
i hope she likes it, and i hope it fits! <3

FO: balaclava
pattern: balaclava
yarn: knitpicks wool of the andes in coal
needle: sz. 7
started: april 28, 2012
finished: may 6, 2012
recently i decided on a huge goal for myself, and i am REALLY excited about it. i plan on hiking the pacific crest trail. its a 2,500 mile hike from the border of mexico to the border of canada. my goal is to prepare for it this year and begin next april. it takes about 5 months to thruhike and i couldn't be more excited about doing it.
i know its going to be one of (if not the hardest) things i do in my life, but i think it will be so life changing and worth it that i cannot wait.
i've been reading and researching about it nonstop and i know a nice handknit balaclava will come in handy during the cold nights and snowy days :)
i know i have a year to prepare, but hopefully as i get things more in order i can report back and really make this trip a reality.

FO: vanessa headband
pattern: vanessa headband
yarn: noro kogarashi
needle: sz. 11
started: january 31, 2012
i just got back from vacation in la and i had the BEST time! it was my first time going anywhere west of texas, and i wasn't sure how i would like it as i'm an nyc girl ;) but it was so much fun, the weather was beautiful and it was so fun being able to finally be the tourist. hehe
of course i went to an lys and got myself some vacation yarn! i got this and also some malabrigo that you will be seeing shortly! this was a really quick knit, normally cables really get on my nerves because it feels so fiddly but it wasn't so bad. the yarn is really soft and nice and warm...i finished it just as the weather got alot nicer! lol
it was hard coming back to the city, maybe its time i trade in the east for the west coast. ;)
