renegade craft fair part one

this afternoon i mosied on over to the renegade craft fair. there was such great stuff. i browsed for about an hour, and guess what, i didn't have any cash on me! ah!!! it's probably a good thing, because i would have spent way too much. you know you're not thinkin' straight when a $15 bar of soap seems like a good deal. mhmmmmm. i think i'm going to go back tomorrow with some cash...not alot! and if i still have my heart set on something, i'm getting it! :) yay.

i am so bad at discretely taking pictures in public. i'm all, who's looking!




and wouldn't ya know? i found a crocheted (i think) elephant...knitting!

i found this gem...i want it! and this is an example of me quick taking a picture. :) if you can't read it, it says, "what would liz lemon do" hehe.

this cracked me up, because i look JUST LIKE those people! haha. i get my headphones tangled about 100 times a day. this was cracking me up.

the destroyer

i got up today and took a little stroll around the neighborhood. i must say, it is hipsterville, but there are alot of cute shops and restaurants! then i went to the park and realized i had gone way too far on my dashings. :( boo. i'm following the pattern exactly, but i never did a gauge swatch so it's probably my fault. the gloves were so long! almost to my elbow long! ooooops. so i had to rip back. i hate ripping! but they are going to look so much better, shorter. oh swells.


it took me about 20 min. of walking around the park until i finally found a spot to sit. the park was hoppin' today! i got a not so hot seat across from the dog park thingy....stinky!!! oh well. :)

i only packed about 3 projects to bring with me to nyc, and all of my yarn stash is en route to me as we speak. please don't fail me now usps!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can't wait to be reunited with it.

i worked at the yoga studio today, and it's so nice to see all of those familiar faces! i loved it. it was so funny because i can't tell you how many people commented on my hair. it reminds me that i REALLY need to do something with it. i haven't had a hair-cut in over a year i think, yikes! also, i have had my hair japanese straightened, because my hair is crazy curly naturally and i couldn't stand it! but it is starting to grow out.

today i heard that i look like kali, that my hair looks like the ganges and also that it looks like i have dreads (i guess that's what happens when you're surrounded by yogis) :). hehe. now, i wish i had the cojones for real dreads, that would be awesome. but i know i'm not cool enough for that. here is what the insanity on the top of my head is looking like...beware!

i'm missin' you like candy

i had a fantabulous day, i ran alot of errands and had a great yoga class. i'm sure tomorrow i'm gonna feel it. :) in some knitting news, i brought my dashing to union square and knit a few rows before my hands got really hot and i could knit no more.

and take a look what happens just about everytime i stick my knitting in my bag....aaaaaaaaaaaah!

needles are flyin' all over the place! i don't think i'll ever learn. thankfully i was able to pick up all the stitches. phew.

ok. onto some more exciting news!!! i have some very vip friends and tonight i got to go hang-out with mandy moore. and by hang-out i mean watch her sing. :) hehe. she has a new cd coming out, and my lovely friend patrice invited me to go enjoy some mandy for the evening. the last time i saw mandy, she was coming out of a starbucks awhile back....she's all grown up now! she has left her candy days behind, that is for sure. i really like her new tunes, very sweet and catchy. she was really cute, and we had a nice time...besides the drink patrice had that tasted like armpits, yikes!

tomorrow is my first day back at work at the yoga studio! so, i have to get some rest. i have to get all geared up to walk around barefoot and light some incense. ;)

the lys next door

such a nice day! i wandered on over to the market in union square, they have the BEST deals on apples. and i made a trip to whole foods, i think i need to find a closer grocery store though, because it is not fun lugging all that stuff home. yikes! after i dropped off my groceries i set out to find my lys...the yarn tree! it was literally right around the corner. people, this could mean trouble.

i didn't get the name of the person working, but she was so nice! the shop had a bunch of yarn i had never heard of, the only thing i recognized was frog tree. i just had to get some of it, it was so squishy soft! i kind of just grabbed the first two colors i liked, because i knew i could sit there for hours deciding. and i don't really have any pink, so i thought i'd spice things up a bit and get some! :) i see a cute striped hat in my future.




i'm also in my new place! well, my new place for the next two months...it's really cute. my room is pretty small, but i have never really minded that. i think my stay here will be nice. i'm really excited to look at apartments for when the bf comes. one of my goals in life is to not have a roomate...i know, i shoot for the moon!!! ;) since the bf doesn't count as a roomie, i can't wait for him to get here to split the rent with me.

the only thing about this place is...the cat is totally creeping me out. now, don't get me wrong, i'm a total cat person! it's just that this cat is all up in my business! i'm sure it's just trying to figure out who i am and what i'm doing in her home, but she talks ALOT and is pretty big and scary lol. yes! i'm scared of a cat. i'm sure we'll end up friends though, i hope.

summer in the citay

first things first! here are some more finished xmas mitts, i have two more pairs to go for the ladies. one of them is for a 6 year old and you know i'm scared to alter patterns so i'm not really sure what to do. and how big are 6 year old hands?! ah! anywhos, i also started the guys' gifts, a pair of dashings! so far so good, i really like this color. it's a steel grey, right up my alley. :)

patrice and i spent the morning with some mango and harry potter, perfect way to start the day if you ask me! then we headed to a friend's for some grilling on his roof. it was the perfect day for it, perhaps a little windy, but it was great. i never liked summer here before. it was always so hot, sweaty people always seemed to be bumping into me, etc. and now, i just love it. i really feel like i am seeing everything with new eyes. i have a new lease on life! ;) i feel really lucky.

and when the sun set, we got a fireworks show! i'm sure the city was celebrating my return. ;)

tomorrow i go to my new place! and you know i'm going to go to that yarn store that is around the corner asap. i have almost NO yarn with me. ah!!! so purchases might have to be made. i'll let you know how it goes!
